The Nature of Morecambe Bay​

The Morecambe bay area has a rich history and a diverse ecology. This site is my attempt to make sense of the overwhelming volume of information available online. My daughter and I moved to the Lancaster in late 2017 and over the following few years we became increasingly aware of the landscape and nature around our home and the wider bay area.

My intention, over time, is to extend these pages to provide an overview of the history, geography, geology and natural history of the Morecambe Bay area. This site is really a means to document my own personal discoveries, but if anyone happens to stumble across these pages then I hope they will find it of use also.
